Overview

Episode 17.1: Illusion continues the Rebellion's investigation after the Werner Lab Raid, introducing new dungeons, quests, and lore. This guide covers the main questline, side quests, and key rewards.

Quest Overview

This quest begins immediately after the Werner Laboratory raid. Assist the Rebellion as they investigate the newly discovered waste area, Rudus.

You will unlock: Securing Regenschirm (Main Quest) and the Morning (Daily Quest).

Walkthrough

Rudus Investigation

  1. Go to your room inside Prontera Castle.
  2. Speak with Nyhill at 21/39. He will give info about the royal family situation.
  3. Go to Einbeinch (215/80) and talk to the Rebellion Member just outside the portal.

Learn about the Rebellion guild.

  1. Head to Einbroch, enter the pub "Cat on Bullet" (300/325).
  2. Speak with Philofontes (Tess) at 93/105 (upper right corner).

He tells you about an entrance to the abandoned waste of Rudus.

  1. Go to Einbroch Field 05 (149/286) and talk to the rebellion crew member to get inside the waste of Rudus.
  2. Inside the new map, talk to Elena Bolkova (184/360). She asks you to investigate further.
  3. Move south and find Rookie (193/284), who gives you the daily quest "Morning".

Investigation Areas

  • Rookie will mark 3 investigation areas on your map:
    • 307/272 - Speak with rebellion crew
    • 125/291 - Speak with rebellion crew
    • 31/306 - Investigate tiny hole
  1. After checking all points, return to Rookie.

He explains how to open something and asks you to hunt 10 each of Dolor, Venenum, and Twin Caput.

  1. Once completed, report to Elena Bolkova (184/360).

Receive 15 Cor Cores and experience.

Securing Regenschirm

  1. Return to Einbroch, Cat on Bullet Pub (300/325) and report to Philophantes.
  2. Talk to the retired rebellion member on your right to enter the back room.
  3. Speak with Philophantes again, learn about Regenschirm and the Heart Hunters.
  4. Talk to Middle-aged Man, Kaya Toss (Vice president of Rekenber).
  5. Go to Lighthalzen, head to Rekenber's Headquarters (53/270).
  6. Talk to Republic Guard and prepare to recapture the laboratory.
  7. Speak with Rekenber Guard Oscar to generate Regenschirm instance (Party required).
  8. Enter and speak with Ashley who moves you inside.
  9. Eliminate all Heart Hunters.
  10. Move to cafeteria (upper left side), click Access Controller door.

Ask researchers to open it.

  1. Talk to researchers to be warped to another hallway.
  2. Head north and eliminate Deadly Poison Gas enemies.
  3. After announcement by Erst, left doors open.
  4. Speak to Erst (36/211) to get access code 0315.
  5. Use code on Access Controller, Ashley will call.
  6. Eliminate all Heart Hunters and Deadly Poison Gas enemies in right rooms (241/50).
  7. Search for 3 detained researchers in lower right area (211/136), talk to each and proceed south.
  8. Find Ashley in 4th room at bottom, she explains info and gives you scattered documents.
  9. Go to central room (128/153) and talk to Ashley.
  10. Talk again to enter central room.
  11. To release Restrained Specimen:
  • Top right control device: Press Blue button
  • Bottom left control device: Press Red button
  • Bottom right control device: Press White button
  • Top left control device: Press Yellow button
  1. Eliminate released specimen.
  2. Talk to Ashley south of the room, then return to Einbech.
  3. Report to Philofontes inside Cat on Bullet Pub (93/105).
  4. Rewards: 25 Unknown Parts, Experience, and extra exp if scattered documents collected.
  5. Quest complete! You unlocked:
  • Investigating Rekenber

Investigating Rekenber

  1. Go to the room just below Philofontes and talk to Lazy (106/69) who is arguing with others.
  2. Keep talking to Lazy and Kaya Toss until they reach an agreement.
  3. Go to Einbroch Airport (42/208) and speak with Lazy. Kaya and Ashley will appear.
  4. You will be warped to Lighthalzen.
  5. Talk to Lazy at Lighthalzen (255/215). After more arguing, Lazy will send you to Lighthalzen Slums to check Patrick Kaufman's house.
  6. Head north and find Lazy again (335/264). After questioning, Lazy will move you out of the slums.
  7. Go to Rekenber Headquarters (105/163) and talk to Lazy.
  8. After talking to the missing person's fiancé, enter the headquarters.
  9. Go to the 2nd floor east side (161/254) and talk to another staff member.
  10. After learning about Pat and others, exit the headquarters and head west to the Regenschirm Lab (53/272).
  11. Speak with laboratory staff on the right side.
  12. Talk to another staff member southwest of the lab about Patrick Kaufman.
  13. Exit lab and return to Rekenber Headquarters office.
  14. Talk to the secretary near the office (80/210) who directs you to check document storage.
  15. Talk to staff at (32/264).
  16. Visit Section 95-146, District 01 in Einbroch Mountains with Kaya Toss.
  17. Go to Einbroch Field 01 (95/146) and meet Kaya. He agrees to cooperate after realizing he was tricked.
  18. Rewards: 20 Cor Cores and experience.

Old Memories

  1. Report to Philofontes at Cat on Bullet pub (93/105).
  2. Go to Einbroch Field 03 (278/269) and talk to the disguised rebel crew in the bush.
  3. Investigate these coordinates:
  1. Return and talk again to the rebel crew at 278/269 to initialize the instance.
  2. Enter the instance and talk to Ridsh.
  3. Eliminate the 2 monsters that spawn.
  4. Click the Suspicious Device at the bottom right and select "Crush it".
  5. Follow the train rails north to the gate entrance.
  6. Remove all 3 Thick Wires by clicking them.
  7. Proceed to the next portal, listen to dialogue, and follow instructions to stay on the railroad.
  8. Meet Ridsh near the top right, talk to her. Portal disappears afterward.
  9. Continue along the railway and meet Dien. Eliminate all mobs.
  10. Talk to Dien and receive 23 Unknown Parts and experience.
  11. Go to Einbech Rebel Headquarters (215/79) and speak with the Rebellion Crew (68/4).
  12. Enter Dien’s room (160/84), open the Ornament Box, select "Just take it" to receive Dien's Precious Envelope.
  13. Return to Einbroch Field 03 and enter the portal (253/359).
  14. Hand over the picture and receive experience.
  15. Quest complete! You unlocked:

Helping the Workers

  1. Speak with the Advanced Team near the entrance of Cor (168/81). Workers are suspicious.
  2. Talk to Kaya to give a speech but workers remain unconvinced.
  3. Speak with Tess; Elyumina appears and attacks.
  4. Some workers get injured and need assistance.
  5. Talk to Tess at the safe place (122/141).
  6. Speak with Ashley nearby; many workers are sick.
  7. Rewards: experience.

Capturing Elyumina

  1. Speak with the Rebellion at (108/130). Elena Bolkova will appear.
  2. Talk to Elena Bolkova about Elyumina causing trouble.
  3. Meet Elena Bolkova near (180/169) to prepare operation.
  4. In a party, speak with Elena to create the Cor Operation instance.
  5. Enter the instance and speak with Elena at the entrance.
  6. Investigate the Box device on the right (220/170), kill spawned mobs, then talk to the Rebellion next to it.
  7. Investigate the next Box device north (222/236), kill mobs, talk to Rebellion.
  8. Area marked on minimap (172/223).
  9. Talk to Elena and choose "Give signal".
  10. Enter portal on left to start fight.
  11. Kill EL1-A17T (easy mob with low HP).
  12. Talk to Elena and finish operation.
  13. Outside the instance, talk with her to receive rewards:
  • 1 Broken Weapon
  • 5 Cor Cores
  • Experience
  1. Speak with Gonie at Barrack (136/210). Lucky will do interrogation.
  2. Talk to Rookie and learn how to enter Varmundt's Mansion.
  3. Go to specified coordinates (255/285) and speak with Lucky.

Finding Patrick

  1. Speak with Kaya inside Cor (136/146) to continue investigation.
  2. Talk with nearby Worker (132/144).
  3. Go to farm area and talk to Researcher (224/77).
  4. Go to laundry area and speak with Worker (151/180).
  5. Visit incinerator and talk to Worker (70/263). He mentions another disposal site at Rudus.
  6. Return to Rudus entrance at (156/288).
  7. Investigate Suspicious Evidence (227/351). Hear voices nearby.
  8. Go to yellow dot at far left (15/280) and speak with Discarded Person.
  9. Rewards: experience.
  10. Discarded Person tells you to look for Identification Bracelet in garbage.
  11. Investigate 4 out of 5 locations:
  1. After finding Patrick’s Identification Bracelet, report back to Kaya (136/146).
  2. Rewards: 20 Cor Cores and experience.
  3. Quest complete!

OS Mission

  1. Speak with Erst at (163/56). If not visible, approach the area.
  2. In a party, speak with her again and choose "Generate OS Mission".
  3. Speak to her once more to enter the instance.
  4. Wait for briefing cut-scene. Avoid poison clouds.
  5. Speak to the flashing communication device and select any option.
  6. After cut-scene, speak to device again, select any option.
  7. After the strike, talk to the device to get navigation for next location (52/177).
  8. Talk to next device, watch cut-scene.
  9. Follow navigation north, kill mobs.
  10. Walk near blue light at (84/256).
  11. Repeat at:
  1. Eliminate Miguel on right side.
  2. Speak with Erst.
  3. Rewards:
