Speak with Rookie and he will mark your map with 3 areas to investigate:

When kill count is completed, go back to Elena Bolkova /navi sp_rudus 184/360. She will reward you with 15 Cor Cores and some experience.

Talk to Ashley, she will move you inside. Eliminate All Heart Hunter. 
Move to the Cafeteria (upper left side) and interact with door Access Controller. Ask the researchers to open it. 
Talk to the researcher to open the door. You will be warped to another hallway. 
Head north and eliminate all enemy Deadly Poison Gas. Announcement from Erst, doors on the left will open. 
Talk to Erst /navi 1@rgsr 36/211, she will give you access code 0315.
Use code on Access Controller, a call from Ashley will pop up. 
Head out of conference room, move right. Eliminate all Heart hunters and Deadly Poison Gas. 
Once cleared, all other rooms become accessible /navi 1@rgsr 241/50. 
Search for 3 Detained researchers at lower right /navi 1@rgsr 211/136, keep going south after each talk. 
Ashley will be in the 4th room bottom-most. She explains info and checks Scattered Documents, take them. 
She tells you to head to the Central Room /navi 1@rgsr 128/153. Talk to Ashley, others pop out. 
Talk to Ashley again to enter Central Room. 
Walk north and talk to Restrained Specimen. To release it, press control devices in order: 
* Top right control device > Blue Button 
* Bottom left control device > Red Button 
* Bottom right control device > White Button 
* Top left control device > Yellow Button 
The Restrained Specimen will be released; eliminate it. 
Talk to Ashley south of room; she asks you to go back to either Einbech or Lighthalzen. Choose Einbech.

After finding out about Pat and others, head out and move west side of building. 
Enter Regenschirm Lab (lighthalzen 53/272). Speak with Laboratory Staff (right side). 
Go southwest and talk to staff about Patrick Kaufman.

Overview

Episode 17.1: Illusion continues the Rebellion's investigation after the Werner Lab Raid, introducing new dungeons, quests, and lore. This guide covers the main questline, side quests, and key rewards.

Quest Overview

This quest begins immediately after the Werner Laboratory raid. Assist the Rebellion as they investigate the newly discovered waste area, Rudus.

You will unlock: Securing Regenschirm (Main Quest) and the Morning (Daily Quest).

Walkthrough

Rudus Investigation

Go to your room inside Prontera Castle. Speak with Nyhill /navi prt_cas_q 21/39, he will tell you some info about the situation with the royal family. Go to Einbeinch, /navi einbech 215/80, talk to the Rebellion Member just outside the portal. He will tell you some info about the Rebellion guild etc. Go to Einbroch and head to the pub Cat on Bullet, /navi einbroch 300/325 and go inside. Speak with Philofontes (Tess) /navi pub_cat 93/105, He is located around upper right corner of the map. He tells you that they found an entrance to the abandoned waste of Rudus. Go to Einbroch Field 05 /navi ein_fild05 149/286, talk to the rebellion crew member and he will let you inside the waste of Rudus. Once inside the new map, talk to Elena Bolkova /navi sp_rudus 184/360. She will tell you to investigate further. Move further south and look for Rookie /navi sp_rudus 193/284. Access to daily quest >Morning. Speak with Rookie and he will mark your map with 3 areas to investigate:

  • (sp_rudus 307/272) speak with rebellion crew
  • (sp_rudus 125/291) speak with rebellion crew
  • (sp_rudus 31/306) investigate tiny hole

Once you checked all points of interest, go back to Rookie and he will tell you how to open it. He will ask you to Hunt Dolor, Venenum, Twin Caput — 10 each. When kill count is completed, go back to Elena Bolkova /navi sp_rudus 184/360. She will reward you with 15 Cor Cores and some experience. First Quest out of 6 main Quests finished. You unlocked > Securing Regenschirm. You unlocked > Morning daily quest.

Securing Regenschirm

Go back to Einbroch, Cat on Bullet Pub /navi einbroch 300/325. Report to Philophantes, he tells you that you move to the back room. Talk to the retired rebellion on your right. He will let you enter the Back room. Speak with Philophantes again, he tells you about Regenschirm and the Heart hunters. Speak with Middle-aged Man, introduced as Kaya Toss, Vice president of Rekenber. Philofontes and Kaya Toss will tell you to investigate further in Rekenber Headquarters. Go to Lighthalzen and head to the Rekenber's Headquarters (upper left corner of the map) /navi lighthalzen 53/270, talk to Republic Guard there. Talk to Republic Guard and prepare to recapture the laboratory. Talk to Rekenber Guard Oscar to generate Regenschirm instance (Must have a Party) and enter. Talk to Ashley, she will move you inside. Eliminate All Heart Hunter. Move to the Cafeteria (upper left side) and interact with door Access Controller. Ask the researchers to open it. Talk to the researcher to open the door. You will be warped to another hallway. Head north and eliminate all enemy Deadly Poison Gas. Announcement from Erst, doors on the left will open. Talk to Erst /navi 1@rgsr 36/211, she will give you access code 0315. Use code on Access Controller, a call from Ashley will pop up. Head out of conference room, move right. Eliminate all Heart hunters and Deadly Poison Gas. Once cleared, all other rooms become accessible /navi 1@rgsr 241/50. Search for 3 Detained researchers at lower right /navi 1@rgsr 211/136, keep going south after each talk. Ashley will be in the 4th room bottom-most. She explains info and checks Scattered Documents, take them. She tells you to head to the Central Room /navi 1@rgsr 128/153. Talk to Ashley, others pop out. Talk to Ashley again to enter Central Room. Walk north and talk to Restrained Specimen. To release it, press control devices in order:

  • Top right control device > Blue Button
  • Bottom left control device > Red Button
  • Bottom right control device > White Button
  • Top left control device > Yellow Button

The Restrained Specimen will be released; eliminate it. Talk to Ashley south of room; she asks you to go back to either Einbech or Lighthalzen. Choose Einbech. Speak with Philofontes inside Cat on Bullet Pub /navi pub_cat 93/105. You get 25 Unknown Parts and Experience. If you took scattered documents, talk to Philofontes again for extra experience. 2nd quest of 6 Main Quests finished. You have unlocked Investigating Rekenber.

Investigating Rekenber

Head to room below Philofontes. Find Lazy talking with others (arguing) /navi pub_cat 106/69. Keep talking to Lazy and Kaya Toss until agreement. Go to Einbroch Airport /navi einbroch 42/208, speak to Lazy. Kaya and Ashley appear, more conversation. Warp to Lighthalzen after agreement. Go to Lighthalzen /navi lighthalzen 255/215 and talk to Lazy. More arguing, then Lazy moves you to Lighthalzen Slums to check Patrick Kaufman's house. Head north and find Lazy /navi lighthalzen 335/264. Speak with Lazy, more dialogue. After questions about Pat, Lazy moves you out of slums. Go to Rekenber's Headquarters /navi lighthalzen 105/163 and talk to Lazy. Talk to other missing person's fiance. Head north inside Headquarters. Go to 2nd floor east side /navi lhz_in01 161/254, speak to staff member. After finding out about Pat and others, head out and move west side of building. Enter Regenschirm Lab (lighthalzen 53/272). Speak with Laboratory Staff (right side). Go southwest and talk to staff about Patrick Kaufman. Go outside lab and back to Rekenber Headquarters Office. Talk to Secretary near office (hz_in01 80/210), told to check documents storage rooms. Talk to Staff at (lhz_in01 32/264). Visit Section 95-146, District 01 in Einbroch Mountains with Kaya Toss. Go to Einbroch field 01 (ein_fild01 95/146). Kaya will be waiting. After realizing trickery, Kaya agrees to cooperate with Lazy and the rest. Kaya rewards 20 Cor Core and experience. 3rd quest of 6 Main Quests finished. You unlocked Old Memories Quest.

Old Memories

Go to Einbroch, Cat in Bullet pub /navi pub_cat 93/105 and talk to Philofontes to report. He tells you to head to Einbroch field 03 to meet Rebellions. Go to Einbroch Field 03 /navi ein_fild03 278/269 and talk to disguised rebel crew in bush. Asked to investigate further. Check ein_fild03 347/219, 268/207, 218/266, then return to rebel crew and talk to him again. Talk to him /navi ein_fild03 278/269 to initialize instance. Talk to him again to enter. Talk to Ridsh and eliminate 2 spawned monsters. Suspicious Device appears (bottom right). Click and select "Crush it". Head north-ish along train rails to Gate entrance. Remove all 3 Thick Wires by clicking them. Continue train tracks. Walk to next portal to trigger dialogue. Dien tells you to walk right to get back on railroad without destroying door. Keep moving top right; meet Ridsh and talk. After dialogue, portal disappears. Follow railway until meeting Dien. Eliminate all mobs. Speak with Dien and get 23 Unknown Parts and experience. Go to Einbech Rebel Headquarters /navi einbech 215/79. Speak with Rebellion Crew /navi rebel_in 68/4. Enter Dien's room /navi rebel_in 160/84 and open Ornament Box on desk. Select "Just take it". Receive Dien's Precious Envelope. Go back to Einbroch Field 03 ~ OS /navi ein_fild03 278/269, enter portal /navi sp_os 253/359. Hand over picture for experience reward. 4th quest of 6 Main Quests finished. You unlocked > Mercenary vs Mercenary daily quest > OS Mission quest > Access to Cor Area.

Helping the Workers

Speak with Advanced Team near entrance of Cor (sp_cor 168/81). Workers think you invaded and don't want you here. Talk to Kaya, he gives speech but workers aren't convinced he's VP of Rekenber. Speak with Tess to convince workers. Elyumina appears and attacks workers. Some injured and need assistance. Speak with Tess at safe place (sp_cor 122/141). Speak with Ashley nearby, she tells many workers are sick. You will be rewarded with experience. 5th quest of 6 Main Quests finished. Continue quest with Capturing Elyumina. Unlocked > Finding Patrick quest.

Capturing Elyumina

Speak with Rebellion at /navi sp_cor 108/130. Elena Bolkova appears. Speak with Elena Bolkova; Elyumina causing trouble. Meet Elena Bolkova near /navi sp_cor 180/169 for operation prep. While in party, speak with Elena and choose Create Cor Operation instance. Talk again to enter. Speak with Elena at entrance. Investigate Box device on right /navi 1@cor 220/170. Kill spawned mobs; talk to Rebellion next to Box. Investigate next Box device north /navi 1@cor 222/236. Kill mobs; talk to Rebellion. Next area marked on minimap /navi 1@cor 172/223. Talk to Elena and choose Give signal. Enter portal on left to start fight. Kill EL1-A17T (easy mob with low HP). Elena appears; talk and end operation. Talk again outside instance. Rewards: 1 Broken Weapon, 5 Cor Cores, experience. Speak with Gonie at Barrack /navi sp_cor 136/210. Lucky will do interrogation. Talk to Rookie; learn how to enter Varmundt's Mansion. Go to /navi sp_cor 255/285 and speak with Lucky. Rewarded with experience. Completed Illusion Episode Main Quest. Speak with Kaya inside Cor /navi sp_cor 136/146. Continue investigation of Patrick Kaufman. Accept request. Speak with nearby Worker /navi sp_cor 132/144. Go to farm area and talk to Researcher /navi sp_cor 224/77. Go to laundry area, speak with Worker /navi sp_cor 151/180. Go to incinerator, speak with Worker /navi sp_cor 70/263. Another disposal site at Rudus mentioned. Go back to Rudus entrance /navi ein_fild05 156/288. Investigate Suspicious Evidence /navi sp_rudus 227/351. Voices heard nearby.
