Episode 17.1: Illusion continues the Rebellion's investigation after the Werner Lab Raid, introducing new dungeons, quests, and lore. This guide covers the main questline, side quests, and key rewards.

Summary

The story continues directly after the Werner Laboratory raid. The Rebellion is pressing forward with its investigation, and you're tasked with exploring a nearby abandoned mine.

Quest Overview

This quest begins immediately after the Werner Laboratory raid. Assist the Rebellion as they investigate the newly discovered waste area, Rudus.

You will unlock: Securing Regenschirm (Main Quest) and the Morning (Daily Quest).

Walkthrough

1. Go to Prontera Castle

Enter your private room inside Prontera Castle. Speak with Nyhill. → /navi prt_cas_q 21/39 He will inform you about the current situation involving the royal family.

2. Head to Einbech

Travel to Einbech. Speak with the Rebellion Member standing near the Rebel base entrance. → /navi einbech 215/80 He will give updates about the Rebellion guild and direct you to the next location.

3. Visit Cat on Bullet Pub (Einbroch)

Go to the northeast corner of Einbroch. → /navi einbroch 300/325 Enter Cat on Bullet, the hidden pub. Inside, speak with Philofontes (Tess) in the northeast room. → /navi pub_cat 93/105 He mentions that they discovered an entrance to the abandoned Rudus zone.

4. Access Rudus Entrance

Walk (do not use Fly Wings) to Einbroch Field 05. → /navi ein_fild05 149/286 Talk to the Rebellion Member posted there. He will grant access to Rudus.

5. Explore Rudus

Inside Rudus, find and speak with Elena Bolkova. → /navi sp_rudus 184/360 She will instruct you to investigate further inside the area.

6. Investigate with Rookie

Move south and speak with Rookie. → /navi sp_rudus 193/284 He unlocks the Morning daily quest and marks three investigation points:

Speak with a Rebellion Member → /navi sp_rudus 307/272

Speak with another crew member → /navi sp_rudus 125/291

Investigate a small hole → /navi sp_rudus 31/306

7. Eliminate Enemies

Return to Rookie after checking all three locations. He will ask you to hunt the following monsters:

10x Dolor

10x Venenum

10x Twin Caput

8. Complete the Quest

Once the kill count is complete, return to Elena Bolkova. → /navi sp_rudus 184/360 She will reward you with:

Securing Regenschirm

This is the 2nd quest in the 6-part main questline.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1. Return to Cat on Bullet Pub (Einbroch)

Go to Einbroch, enter Cat on Bullet Pub → /navi einbroch 300/325 Speak with Philophantes. He tells you to go to the back room. Talk to the Retired Rebellion Member on your right. He grants access to the back room. Speak with Philophantes again. He introduces the topic of Regenschirm and the Heart Hunters. Talk to the Middle-aged Man, who introduces himself as Kaya Toss, Vice President of Rekenber. Kaya and Philophantes instruct you to investigate the Rekenber Headquarters.

2. Go to Rekenber Headquarters (Lighthalzen)

Travel to Lighthalzen, go to the upper-left corner of the map → /navi lighthalzen 53/270 Talk to the Republic Guard there to prepare the mission. Speak to Rekenber Guard Oscar to generate the Regenschirm instance. (You must be in a party.)

3. Inside the Regenschirm Instance

Talk to Ashley to begin. She will warp you inside. Eliminate all Heart Hunters. Move to the Cafeteria (upper-left room). Click on the Access Controller. Ashley asks you to get help from the researchers. Talk to a Researcher to open the door. You will be warped to a hallway.

4. Deadly Poison Gas Area

Head north and defeat all Deadly Poison Gas enemies. After clearing, doors on the left will open. Talk to Erst → /navi 1@rgsr 36/211 She gives you an access code: 0315. Use the code on the Access Controller. Ashley will contact you.

5. Clear the East Section

Exit the conference room and move right. Eliminate all remaining Heart Hunters and Deadly Poison Gas. Other rooms will now be accessible → /navi 1@rgsr 241/50 Look for 3 Detained Researchers.

6. Talk to Detained Researchers

Go to the lower-right part of the map → /navi 1@rgsr 211/136 Talk to each Detained Researcher, moving further south each time. The 4th room at the bottom contains Ashley. She explains some details. Check the Scattered Documents and collect them.

7. Head to Central Room

Go to the center of the map → /navi 1@rgsr 128/153 Speak with Ashley. Then talk to her again to enter the Central Room. Move north and talk to the Restrained Specimen.

8. Release and Defeat the Specimen

To release the specimen, activate the devices in this order:

Top-right control device → Blue Button

Bottom-left control device → Red Button

Bottom-right control device → White Button

Top-left control device → Yellow Button

The specimen is released. Defeat it in battle.

9. Complete the Quest

Speak with Ashley, located south of the room. She will ask you to return to either Einbech or Lighthalzen. Choose Einbech. Go to Philophantes inside Cat on Bullet Pub → /navi pub_cat 93/105 Reward:

Investigating Rekenber

This is the 3rd quest in the 6-part main questline.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1. Back Room at Cat on Bullet

Go to the room just below Philophantes.

Talk to Lazy → /navi pub_cat 106/69

Speak with Kaya Toss as well. Continue talking to both until they reach an agreement.

2. Meet at Einbroch Airport

Go to the Einbroch Airport → /navi einbroch 42/208

Talk to Lazy. Kaya and Ashley will appear.

After more conversation, you’ll be warped to Lighthalzen.

3. Search Patrick Kaufman’s House

In Lighthalzen, talk to Lazy again → /navi lighthalzen 255/215

After the conversation, you’ll be moved to the Slums.

Go north to find Lazy → /navi lighthalzen 335/264

Talk to him and continue the dialogue about Patrick Kaufman.

4. Visit Rekenber Headquarters

Head to the main HQ → /navi lighthalzen 105/163

Talk to Lazy and speak to the missing person’s fiancée.

Go inside the HQ and speak with the staff.

5. Upstairs Investigation

Go to 2nd floor, east side → /navi lhz_in01 161/254

Talk to another staff member to learn more about the missing people.

6. Visit Regenschirm Lab

Exit the HQ, go to the building at → /navi lighthalzen 53/272

Speak with the Laboratory Staff on the right.

Then talk to another staff member in the southwest corner.

7. Office Investigation

Leave the lab and return to the Rekenber Office.

Talk to the Secretary → /navi hz_in01 80/210

He directs you to the document archives.

Speak to another staff member → /navi lhz_in01 32/264

You decide to investigate a remote location with Kaya Toss.

8. Travel to Investigation Site

Go to Einbroch Field 01 → /navi ein_fild01 95/146

Kaya is waiting there.

After discovering the truth and betrayal, Kaya agrees to cooperate with Lazy.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1. Report to Philophontes

Go to Einbroch, Cat on Bullet Pub → /navi pub_cat 93/105 Talk to Philophontes and report. He tells you to meet the Rebellion at Einbroch Field 03.

2. Meet the Rebellion

Go to Einbroch Field 03 → /navi ein_fild03 278/269 Talk to the disguised rebel crew in the bushes. He asks you to investigate further.

3. Investigate the Coordinates

Check these locations on Einbroch Field 03:

/navi ein_fild03 347/219 /navi ein_fild03 268/207 /navi ein_fild03 218/266

Return to the rebel crew and talk to him again.

4. Initialize Instance

Talk to the rebel crew again at /navi ein_fild03 278/269 when ready to start the instance. Talk to him again to enter.

5. Fight and Destroy

Talk to Ridsh and eliminate the 2 spawned monsters. A Suspicious Device appears on the bottom right. Click it and select Crush it to proceed.

6. Clear the Railroad

Follow the train rails north-ish until you reach the gate entrance. Remove all 3 Thick Wires by clicking on them. Continue along the train tracks to the next portal to trigger dialogue.

7. Railroad Navigation

Dien tells you to walk right to get back on the railroad without destroying the door. Keep moving top-right and meet Ridsh. Talk to her. After dialogue, the portal disappears and you can continue.

8. Final Fight

Follow the railway to the top right again and meet Dien. Eliminate all mobs that spawn. Talk to Dien to receive 23 Unknown Parts and experience.

9. Return to Headquarters

Go to Einbech Rebel Headquarters → /navi einbech 215/79 Talk to the Rebellion Crew → /navi rebel_in 68/4 Enter Dien’s room → /navi rebel_in 160/84 Open the Ornament Box on the desk, select Just take it to get Dien’s Precious Envelope.

10. Final Step

Return to Einbroch Field 03 ~ OS → /navi ein_fild03 278/269 Enter the portal → /navi sp_os 253/359 Hand over the picture and receive experience.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1. Speak to Advanced Team

At Cor entrance → /navi sp_cor 168/81 Workers think you invaded and don’t want you there.

2. Kaya’s Speech

Talk to Kaya to give a speech. Workers are unconvinced he’s really the Vice President of Rekenber.

3. Get Tess’s Help

Speak with Tess to try to convince the workers. Elyumina appears and attacks the workers. Some workers are injured.

4. Assist at Safe Place

Speak with Tess at a safe location → /navi sp_cor 122/141 Speak with Ashley nearby. She tells you many workers are sick.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1. Meet Elena Bolkova

Speak with the Rebellion → /navi sp_cor 108/130

Elena Bolkova will appear next to you.

Talk to Elena Bolkova. Elyumina is causing trouble.

2. Prepare Operation

Move with Elena Bolkova near → /navi sp_cor 180/169

While in a party, talk to Elena and choose Create Cor Operation to start the instance.

Talk to her again to enter.

3. Investigate Boxes and Kill Mobs

At the entrance, speak to Elena.

Investigate Box device on the right → /navi 1@cor 220/170

Kill spawned mobs and talk to nearby Rebellion member.

Investigate next Box device north → /navi 1@cor 222/236

Kill spawned mobs and talk to nearby Rebellion member.

4. Signal and Fight

Area will be marked on minimap → /navi 1@cor 172/223

Talk to Elena and choose Give signal.

Enter portal on the left to start the fight.

5. Boss Fight

Kill EL1-A17T (easy, low HP).

Talk to Elena to end the operation.

Talk to her again outside the instance for rewards:

6. Next Steps

OS Mission

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1. Meet Erst

Speak with Erst at: → /navi sp_cor 163/56

If she does not appear, walk near her location to trigger her spawn.

2. Start the Instance

While in a party, talk to Erst again.

Choose Generate OS Mission.

Talk to her once more to enter the instance.

3. Briefing and Initial Instructions

Wait for the briefing cut-scene inside the instance.

Stay inside the area—avoid poison clouds that will kill you if stepped on.

4. Use Communication Device

When prompted, interact with the flashing blue communication device and select any option.

After another cut-scene, use the device again and select any option.

5. Follow Navi and Kill Mobs

After the strike, talk to the device to get the next navigation point: → /navi 1@os_a 52/177

Talk to the next device and watch the cut-scene.

Follow the navigation lines moving north and kill mobs encountered.

6. Progress Through Checkpoints

After killing mobs, move near the blue light: → /navi 1@os_a 84/256

7. Boss Fight

Speak with Morning in Waste of Rudus, (sp_rudus 130/200). He’s the kid in the middle of the map with a barcode on his forehead. Talk to him and choose Find a meal for Morning followed by I'll bring it. You’ll be asked to bring 10 items at random, from one of the list below:

Prerequisite:

• Finding Patrick.

Speak with Ashley (sp_cor 135/147) and accept her request. You’ll be asked to hunt down 20 Dolors and collect 10 Identification Bracelets (drops from Dolors as a quest-granted item).

Return to her once you’ve completed your mission and she will reward you with:
